In attempting to resync the different campaigns it was decided that the
2nd mourning happened on the same day Zergiot was crowned Lhesh of
Darguun. Afterwards the DM told us The 2nd mournland covered all the
territory controlled by Breland at the time it happened. It moved north
covering Wroat, and stopped near the The Dragonwood which Droaam
controlled. It also didn't pass the border with Zilargo. While the
Brelish army still technically controlled the area south of Lake Brey
the mournbomb didn't "jump" the territory controlled by Droaam.
The army coming towards Vathirond was from Thrane. After the fall of The
Lurching tower, the people of Vathirond had realized they were cut off
and sent delegates to Arythawn Keep requesting assistance. Thrane had
already sent and army to destroy The Lurching Tower to eliminate "The
Great Destroyer", so after doing so the army turned East towards
Vathirond.
The ghosts in the lab were custom brewed variants of ghosts. They took
complete damage from magical attacks, not the usual 50% to miss.
The mournbomb created a "new mournland" that covered all the territory
Breland controlled when it went off. This includes everything east of
the Dagger River to the border with Zilargo and from the ocean on the
south through The Bears Wood to the north. Although Breland technically
controlled the area around Dragons Crown where the Brelish army was
located the mournbomb did not "jump" over the territory controlled by
Droamm so this area remained unaffected.
The DM also told us that the "shifter" encountered by Blade was actually
a Rakshasa from The Demon Wastes. He used telepathy to discover Blade
didn't really know what a Rakshasa is and that Blade assumed he was a
shifter so didn't bother to disguise himself. The Rakshasa's goal is to
unite all of the nations under one banner, doesn't matter which one, and
then detonate the final mournbomb so it covers the entire continent.
Sadly none of the characters know anything about it and can't legally
act on this information.
Members of the Carrion Tribes have begun coming over the mountains to
raid the Eldeen Reaches in greater numbers then they ever have before.
What happened to the Ghaash'kala and why they're not stopping them is
unknown.
At this time Lii Marde hadn't actually been named yet and so was
informally called "ratty" by some of the players. At the time this was
played as if he was insane and simply didn't remember his own name.
The GM said that the machine behind the large iron door with the goop at
the bottom was an "organic forge" used in experiments to create true
living beings and eventually replace full humans lost in the war, rather
then just creating warforged. The animals in the cages were the results
of attempts at using the organic forge. The mournbombs were
hyper-concentrated containers of the energy used in the organic forge
and were never meant to be a weapon. The original Day of Mourning was an
accident when one of the orbs was damaged and the energy released. The
only people who both knew the truth about the Day of Mourning and
survived it was Merrix D'Cannith, Zorlan D'Cannith, and Jorlanna
D'Cannith. This is why House Cannith was divided after the Day of
Mourning and why none of the three leaders of House Cannith ever took
full control of the entire house. Each leader knew that whoever became
patriarch or matriarch of House Cannith would be accused by the other
two of being responsible for the Day of Mourning and so a stalemate
occurred between them.
