The character currently known as Blade started out as Karabela. He was created by the Lord of Blades on a damaged creation forge in the Mournlands. Utterly devoted to the Lord of Blades he started out eager to prove himself to his god and obtain a more fearsome name. He was assigned as a simple guard on a mission outside of "The Bladelands" (which is what he calls The Mournlands) however his party was attacked by a "devil" near the borders of the mists. The fight went poorly and he was damaged enough to be made inert. He next woke up in the Lurching Tower prison as the start of the campaign. He doesn't know how he got there from the mists. Due to the results of the Lurching Tower the Lord of Blades promoted Karabela to 2nd in command and allowed him to rename himself Blade which he has called himself since. He seeks to do the Lord of Blades' will in all things and supports his mission of enslaving all other races.

Alignment: True Neutral; Neutral Evil
Little is known about Moriarty's history or even how he ended up in the Lurching Tower. Few people know he even exists and those that do only knows that he has agents working for him almost everywhere, and has vast resources. His goal is to restart The Last War in order to sell war material to all the nations. He started out True Neutral but is now considered to be Neutral Evil now. Although a primary character, he has ended up more of an NPC as the campaign has evolved. While Sherlock makes decisions of what Moriarty does on a strategic level, currently when the game goes to a tactical level Sherlock plays as one of Moriarty's agents since Moriarty himself wouldn't intentionally put himself in that kind of danger.
Player: Conan
Race: Human
Class: Wizard
Character type: Primary
Alignment: True Neutral; Neutral Evil
Zergiot was originally a disposable character for Conan to play until his real character Dave could be released or escape. Because of how the campaign has evolved Zergiot became Conan's primary character and Dave became a secondary. Zergiot is a very cowardly wizard, because of this Zergiot frequently wears armor and carries a shield to keep himself safe despite how it interferes with his spellcasting. Furthermore as a coward he will run away from combat when alone. Despite his cowardice Zergiot wants to be a famous and renowned hero. Because of his desire to be a hero he carries a sword and when there are others to witness his 'heroic' actions will charge into battle. Zergiot is also vain and will give himself new titles as time goes by depending on what happens around him such Zergiot the Incredible, Zergiot the Conqueror, etc. Zergiot started out as True Neutral but has started becoming more evil and lawful as the campaign has progressed and is generally considered to be Neutral Evil now.

Dave was actually meant to be Conan's only character however with the way campaign evolved Dave ended up as a secondary character. Dave started the campaign as an regular ogre but was eventually mutated. Dave is very, very dumb, but incredibly strong, even for an ogre. Dave was captured by a farmer who lived in a village near the Lurching Tower. This farmer thought ogres would make good slave labor and captured multiple ogres to work on his farm. It worked well at first but something happened and by the end the entire village the farmer lived in was slaughtered by Dave. A patrol from the Lurching Tower discovered the ruined village and found Dave there armed with a giant branch with a blacksmith's anvil crudely tied to the end. Somehow they managed to subdue Dave and bring him back to the Lurching Tower as a prisoner. During the campaign Dave was mutated into the half ogre half stone golem hybrid he is now.

Buddah's Buddy is a warrior/shaman who has an intense hatred for arcane spellcasters. Generally just called 'Buddy', he frequently yells out "Filthy! Stinking! Wizards!" when he sees a wizard and will go far out of his way to kill one. Although he says he specifically hates wizards his hatred also extends to all other arcane spellcasters such as sorcerers and bards. He has no problem with magic in general and will happily use magical items and gear. He also has no problems with artificers since they don't cast spells directly but create useful magical items. Divine spellcasters such as clerics, druids, paladins, etc. also do not attract his attention. Buddy enjoys taking trophies from the wizards he kills. He lives entirely for the thrill of combat and especially to kill any and all wizards he can find.

Race: Changeling
Class: Druid
Character type: Primary
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Lii Marde hadn't been named when the first session he was played in. Because of this the Lii Marde didn't remember his name in character and Blade nicknamed him "ratty". By his second session Manson had come up with Lii's name so in character he suddenly remembered his name. A native of the Eldeen Reaches, Lii was raised in the druid tradition. Despite this he doesn't care very much about nature and animals for their own benefit but in how they can be used. This put him at odds with the other druids and he eventually left the Eldeen reaches. He traveled around a bit however the Last War was going on then. Trying to avoid getting caught up in the battles he spent some time in Sharn. Near the end of the war he was hired by House Cannith to work in a research center located in Cyre. House Cannith used this place to develop new weapons for the war and needed someone not allied with House Vadalis to handle the animals used for testing. Quite coincidentally his first day of work at the facility turned out to be the Day of Mourning. The first he and his co-workers learned something was wrong was when the earth started shaking. As the shaking grew worse, he and everyone else tried escaping the facility. He reached the entrance when a stone fell on him, smashing his legs and pinning him, preventing him from escaping. His animal companion was killed by the falling stone. He saw his co-workers as they ran past him trying to escape, some made it out the doors but most simply dropped dead. The quake grew much worse and the floor broke up and shifted so it was at a slight angle. Water started pouring in the doors and filled up most of the room. Because of the angle of the floor the corner Ratty was in happened to be the highest point and the water never reached him though it filled up the rest of the entrance room that he could see. Ratty quickly discovered many of his spells didn't behave normally, his cure spells barely worked at all and soften earth didn't work at all. The stone was too heavy for him to move and none of his magic was useful in getting out from underneath it. He was able to use his magic to make water to drink. He couldn't provide food with his magic and ate his animal companion then eventually his coworkers within his reach. Throwing the bones away he discovered the 'water' that had flooded the facility was highly acidic but couldn't use the fact to free himself. He never ran out of air so assumed there was at least an open air vent in the air pocket he was trapped in but no matter how loud he shouted no one came to rescue him. He noticed that his dead coworkers didn't decompose which helped maintain his food supply but as days turned into weeks he began to realize that for some reason he wasn't going to be rescued. Although his healing magic was almost useless, having nothing better to do he used it on himself as much as he could and eventually managed to completely heal his legs. Despite this he was still trapped under the stone and couldn't move. Before his food supply ran out he woke to see a pack of large mutated rats in the facility with him. Using his skills with animals he managed to befriend three of them and trained them to bring him food. He named them, Milk, Mierda, and Milf. He survived this way for 4 years until Blade and his companions rescued him. He has no knowledge of anything that has happened the past four years including the creation of the Mournland and the Treaty of Thronehold ending the Last War. He has a tendency to use his own last name as a curse at times. His current animal companion is an invisible feline he has named Kitty.

A native of Starilaskur, her family was killed in a mysterious explosion when she was young. Twilight was never the same afterwards and was apparently driven mad by the experience, frequently talking to (and receiving answers from) her invisible friend Dawn. Twilight doesn't like talking about the explosion that killed her family and when she does she claims Dawn did it, but also that it was an accident and "Dawn didn't mean to". In actuality Twilight accidentally manifested her powers for the first time and killed her family herself. The horror of the experience along with the nature of her powers made her schizophrenic bringing her (prior to this completely normal) imaginary friend to life in Twilights mind. Because Dawn is really a symptom of Twilights madness and powers no one can (currently) see Dawn and no one besides Twilight can (currently) hear Dawn talk. During times of great emotional distress or when Twilight is threatened Dawn will supposedly protect Twilight but this is really just Twilight using her own powers without really understanding it. Because of this some goblins believe "Dawn" is real and Twilight is possessed though most think she's just crazy. Enough goblins think she is possessed by infernal powers that she is partially shunned by the goblin community in Starislaskur, enough that no one would take her in and she grew up on the streets but not enough that goblins won't sometimes talk to her or give her the occasional copper piece. She was eventually forced into prostitution and became a favorite of a goblin tattoo artist from whom she eventually learned how to tattoo. After the goblin uprising in Starilaskur she was assigned by the goblin elders to be one of Zergiot's bodyguards.

Caragmeth is the latest in a set of nearly identical assassin brothers who have been hired by Moriarty's agents. They grew up in a small monastery in Adar. Unlike most other monasteries in Adar, this one is devoted entirely to be Shadow Watchers and specifically believes eliminating the Inspired leadership, rather then direct conflict or spiritual meditation, will do the most to end the Dreaming Dark. Because of this the brothers were trained to sneak and eliminate individuals using skills similar to a ninja. They grew up speaking Quor and it's their primary language. Although fluent in Common they speaks it with a strong Quor accent. Someone fluent in Quor speaking with him in Quor will recognize them as being from Adar due to his dialect. They were sent to Khorvaire by their elders to stymie the efforts of the Dreaming Dark here. Because of the difficulty in directly tracking down agents of the Dreaming Dark in Khorvaire they also work as an 'assassin for hire' to earn extra money. While they uses much of this money himself to help find and fight the Dreaming Dark in Khorvaire they send any extra back to their monastery in Adar to help them train new recruits and continue the fight there. They will accept contracts from almost anyone, even an evil person against a good target, so long as the money is good enough. They have been hired by many of Moriarty's agents who pay extremely well using funds from Moriarty. The first was Haragmeth who was killed during the campaign though no one in-universe are aware of exactly what happened to him and Zellos suspects Haragmeth stayed behind to drink the ale on the island he was last seen on. The second was Loragmeth who was killed during an assassination though he completed the contract. The third brother is named Caragmeth.
